Morning Shot – July 10 2009

Starting a new feature today called Morning Shot. Morning Shot will be a photo from somewhere in Yosemite and the current days forecast. That way, if you’re like me and look at the weather first thing in the morning before you head out for a hike, you’ll be able to get a localized view of what the day is going to be like before you head out. I’ll also try to throw in any pertinent news if I have any.

Today’s forecast for Yosemite National Park calls for sunny skies with a few scattered clouds. Highs today will be in the low 80’s with an overnight low around 57F.

If you’re heading out it’ll be a beautiful day with lots of sun and blue skies.

Be sure to put on lots of sunscreen and drink lots of water. Nice days like this it’s easy to get dehydrated without realizing it.

Morning News
The Grouse fire has slowed in growth and has reached the boundary of its burn area. You may still see some smoke as it continues to burn within its burn area. The Grouse fire is located 3 miles South West of Yosemite Village, North of the Glacier Point Road and East of Highway 41 between Chinquapin and Yosemite Valley
