Keep Bears Wild

Everyone loves bears. They’re one of the most exciting animals to see within the park. But nothing is more sad than seeing a bear that’s been struck by a speeding car.

Keepbearswild.org is a new website from the Yosemite Conservancy, National Park Service and Wharton Media dedicated to the education of park visitors in an effort to protect the black bears living within Yosemite. The website features information about what to do when you encounter a bear and properly viewing a bear in the wild, how to properly store your food to protect the bear, and encourages visitors to drive slowly in the park as bear collisions with vehicles are their number one cause of death. You can find out more at http://keepbearswild.org/.
