A power line that channels electricity from El Portal to Yosemite Valley was severed during Sunday’s storm leaving Yosemite Valley without power for more than 24 hours.
Power was finally restored to the Valley late Monday afternoon but not before park guests got to spend a night roughing it without power in their hotel rooms.
The Ahwahnee Hotel and Curry Village front desk were operating on generators, but other parts of Yosemite Village were completely out of power for much of Monday, Gediman said.
