How’s the Water

Lots of people are asking how the rivers are flowing in Yosemite. Well now there’s a pretty cool way you can keep track of just how high the water is flowing AND how busy the Mist Trail to Vernal and Nevada Falls is.

Thanks to the US Geological Survey this awesome new webcam keeps track of the gauging station at Happy Isles Bridge. It’s also situated so it’s pointed right at the trail up to Vernal and Nevada Falls. For all you voyeurs out there, there’s an archive of stills from the day organized by hour. They’re then broke down into 10 minute intervals with video footage of each 10 minute interval.

For the science geeks out there like me who are really just interested in how fast and high the water is, the elevation and stream flow are at the bottom of the photo.
