You know I’ve always wanted to visit Mono Lake in winter but since I traded in my Jeep Wrangler for a Honda Element I’ve become a little bit more hesitant to drive in areas that get deep snow. Ok, I’m a wimp but with great videos like this one of Mono Lake blanketed in snow by dsograph1 I almost feel like I’m there.

By the way, if you’ve never been to Mono Lake or the historic ghost town Bodie you should really check them out. They’re both just a few minutes drive outside the Tioga Pass entrance and can make for some really great day trips if you’re with kids or want to take pictures. Sunset or sunrise is great for Mono Lake if you want to take pictures. You can also pick up some awesome bar-b-que at Bodie Mikes in Lee Vining before heading back to your hotel.
