Although the Wildcat fire remains active the NPS has announced the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne Trail will reopen tomorrow.
@YosemiteNPS: Entire Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne trail will reopen tomorrow (August 25).
The Wildcat Fire has scorched approximately 1235 acres and is continuing to slowly burn along Return Creek and about 1 1/2 miles north of the Tuolumne near Register Creek.
Firefighters have cleared some brush and created a light fire line, for defensive purposes, near Return Creek and to the bottom of the Tuolumne River canyon. A portable sprinkler system was placed into service by firefighters to protect the Return Creek Bridge. (NPS)
