BY 7 AM…WIDESPREAD RAINFALL AMOUNTS EXCEEDING ONE INCH HAVE BEEN OBSERVED OVER THE THE FOOTHILLS AND THE SLOPES OF THE SOUTHERN SIERRA
NEVADA BELOW 8000 FEET. MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY…AND FALL ON THE SNOWPACK ABOVE 5000 FEET.
THE STORM IS BRINGING TROPICAL MOISTURE INTO THE REGION…KEEPING SNOW LEVELS HIGH TODAY AND TUESDAY. SNOWMELT IS ADDING TO THE RUNOFF…RESULTING IN STREAMS RUNNING NEAR BANKFULL IN SOME LOCATIONS…AND LOCAL FLOODING OF ROADS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS.
