There was a fire on the north rim today, just west of Northdome and slightly east of Royal Arches Cascades. Tonight I noticed the light as I went out for a smoke, went and grabbed my camera and took several shots. Unfortunately I don’t have a wireless release and so had to resort to hand-holding the shutter open on some of the longer shots. The original firefalls were held on the other side of the valley at Glacier Point, and ended in 1968.

Incredible pictures. I posted a photo of North Dome earlier today, and had to link to these! You took some prize-winning pictures!
Awesome shot Edie! Nice timing. Was the fire accidental or deliberate? Have you heard?
Wow! That is an awesome shot. I hope nobody started this fire deliberately.
