If you live far away from Yosemite and only get into the park infrequently it’s hard to imagine what a day in Yosemite during the winter months is like. But now you can experience a complete day in just a few minutes and it’s only as far away as iTunes*.
Everyday Halfdome.net compiles all the images from the Yosemite Association webcams and releases them as time lapse movies. Using their RSS feed and iTunes* you can get the movies delivered right to your door.
To subscribe to the podcast simply open iTunes, click on the Advanced menu and select Subscribe to Podcast. Copy and paste this URL (http://halfdome.net/vodcast/index.xml) into the dialog box and click OK. Don’t forget to take the () of the URL when you paste it. In just a few minutes the podcast will be downloaded and ready for you to watch.
*iTunes is a free product of Apple. http://www.apple.com/itunes. No iPod is required to watch the movies or use iTunes.

Cool. Just wanted to say that if anybody wanted to make a time lapse vid themselves using a webcam, I wrote a little application that can do it which is downloadable via http://www.nimisis.com/projects/flix.php. It’s called Webcam Flix. (Hope it’s okay to plug it here…)
