The National Park Service has renewed its contract with DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite Inc. to provide visitor services in Yosemite National Park through Jan. 31, 2015. The previous contract extension expired Sept. 30, with the renewal beginning Oct. 1. DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite Inc. provides hotel, food and beverage, lodging, retail and other services within the park. Hotels include the Ahwahnee, Yosemite Lodge and Wawona Hotel. Visitor services include raft rentals on the Merced River, the Yosemite Mountaineering School, and horse and mule rides in Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne Meadows and Wawona. The contact continuation was deemed necessary to ensure there is no disruption of visitor services, said Don Neubacher, park superintendent. The provisions of the current contract will not change. DNC Parks and Resorts, part of the Delaware North Companies, was founded in 1992 to manage visitor services in Yosemite National Park. It has since grown to include other national parks, state parks, cultural attractions and 10 destination resorts in three countries.

DNC did not start in 1922! you must have meant
Yosemite Park & Curry Co which took over from
the desmond co. and was replaced by dnc in the
late 80s do not try to change history like the
nps trys to do.
The concessionaires service comes up for bid every 4 years. The highest bidder is awarded the contract and pays the NPS to run the service. The article states that DNC won the bid for another 4 year term. Maybe you misread the part that said 1992 and thought it said 1922. That’s about the only thing I can think of. However, I don’t really appreciate your off-color remark about the NPS trying to change history. If you have firm solid evidence the NPS is changing history feel free to challenge the NPS in court and then I’ll blog about it. Otherwise I’d prefer you keep your comments civil or to yourself.
