The Detwiler Fire is continuing to burn while residents are being allowed back in burned areas. Many of the roads in the area have reopened. Highway 49 between Bear Valley and Coulterville still is closed. SR 132 and Highway 140 are both open.
The fire is 68% contained and has burned over 78,900 acres.
The fire danger is still extremely high in the Sierra. Fire restrictions are in place.
Campfires are prohibited. Building campfires, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire, or stovefire, briquette barbecues outside of developed recreation site is prohibited.
Gas stoves and lanterns are prohibited except by permit. Portable stove or lantern using gas, jellied petroleum or pressurized liquid within the hazard areas is prohibited except by permit. Campfire permits can be obtained for free at any Forest Service office or by visiting http://www.preventwildfireca.org/Campfires/.
Smoking is prohibited, except wihtin an enclosed vehicle or building, within a developed recreation site, or areas with atleast a 3×3 clearance of all flamable material.
Welding is prohibited. Operating an acetylene or other torch with an open flame is prohibited.
Explosives are prohibited. Using an explosive and firearms is prohibited.
