Here’s the latest trail condition update from the NPS.
The Half Dome cables are down. There is no estimated date when the cables will be put up.
Snow will be present on trails above 6,000 – 7,000 feet depending on the aspect. Generally forested and shaded areas as well as north and east facing slopes hold snow later in the year than more open areas. Expect wet and muddy trails throughout the park.
The trails to Little Yosemite Valley are open and clear of snow. Beyond Little Yosemite Valley the trails are clear to Washburn Lake, though are flooded in areas. The trail to Clouds Rest is clear of snow to about 8,200 feet and 100% thereafter. The top of Clouds Rest is still snow covered and has a steep snow bank on it.
Trails to the valley rims are clear of snow. Trails beyond the valley rims are covered with 100% snow. The trail along the north rim of the valley, providing access to North Dome and El Capitan, has 100% snow coverage. Accessing the north rim from the Old Big Oak Flat Rd is clear of snow until Ribbon Meadow, but has a high creek crossing at Tamarack Creek. The Pohono Trail from Wawona Tunnel is clear of snow until Standford Pt. Thereafter there is 100% snow coverage.
The panorama clear is clear of snow. Crossing Illilouette creek is bridged just above Illilouette falls, but is not bridged near Mono Meadow. The crossing is up to 3 ft deep and 60 ft across and is not recommended.The trail to Rancheria falls is open and clear of snow. Trails to Lake Vernon still have 100% snow coverage, via either Beehive Meadows or Mt Gibson. The trail to Laurel Lake is mostly snow free until Beehive Meadows. Frog Creek, between Beehive Meadows and Laurel Lake is not bridged and is running high.
The trail to Chilnualna Falls is clear as is the area surrounding the falls. Beyond Chilnualna Falls the trails are 100% snow covered. Additionally, Chilnualna Creek is running high and may be difficult to cross.
