Ironstone Vineyards is about an hour and 20 minutes north of Yosemite in Murphys. Not many park visitors make the trip to Ironstone even though the winery makes some of the best wine in California. But now there’s a great reason to head up that way if you’re in the park this weekend, Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys will conclude its 2009 summer concert series with one of the biggest acts ever, the venerable rock trio Crosby, Stills and Nash.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday, with doors opening an hour earlier. There is no opening act.

The music of David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash is universally regarded as a cornerstone of rock and roll.

This trio of legendary singer-songwriters, often simply known as CSN, has been actively collaborating since 1969, when they first harmonized in either Joni Mitchell’s living room or Mama Cass Elliot’s dining room, depending on which member you ask. Crosby and Nash ascribe to the former, while Stills is adamant about the latter.

They gave their first live gig together the same year — before more than 500,000 people at Woodstock. (Union Democrat)

Ironstone is a small and fairly intimate venue. This is a great opportunity to see a legendary band you may never see together again (these guys aren’t getting any younger folks).
