A series of suspicious fires in the communities surrounding Yosemite may have been the work of an arsonist. Residents and visitors are being asked to keep a look out for any suspicious activity in the Oakhurst-Mariposa area and report any fires immediately.
The grass covering the foothills surrounding Yosemite has benefitted greatly by the wet winter and spring and are covered with tall, dry grass making conditions ideal for wildfires.
Wildfires may be reported immediately by dialing 9-1-1.
