Bear Update

NPS: Bears have been active in all Valley campgrounds. Most bears are obtaining food while the visitors are around the campfire with their food far out of sight and reach. Please keep food locked up if you are not eating it!

There have been car breakins at Curry Village, Housekeeping, Yosemite Lodge, Camp 4 and the Ahwahnee. The bears are entering cars for as little as a baby car seat (often full of crumbs).

There is a large male bear at White Wolf. This bear makes the rounds of the campgrounds and the lodge most nights.

Bears have been observed eating left over picnic food at Swinging Bridge. Make sure to clean up after yourself so the bears don’t get to.

Bears continue to patrol the backcountry. Bears have been observed at Glen Aulin, Sunrise, and Moraine dome.
