Camera in hand, Edie takes a walk around the Valley to give us a look at the aftermath of the May 16th flood in Yosemite Valley.
Edie: “With camera in hand, and the laptop in my backpack, I headed out this morning to take pictures of the flood damage. The first stop was over to the porch of Dorm C to have a wonderful cup of coffee with my friends Cindy and Mike.
Aparrently Yosemite made the news last night, and they had calls from family concerned about their safety.
Then off down the road–Indian Creek had subsied a bit, but was still way above the level I’d first seen it. Then off to Ahwahnee Meadow–which was largely unaffected by the high water level. To the south of it the river had flooded well beyond its banks, and so I took off down a path that leads to the Housekeeping camp. ”

Loyd,
I would like to thank you and Edie for keeping us informed so well. We are planning a big vacation that includes a 60th b-day present for my wife’s father, and it has been scary to watch our plans almost float away. You two have done a great job of sharing first hand accounts and information of the events this week. When I get back I will be creating a trip report for my websites and I will be sure to include you two and links to your sites.
Thanks
Scott
