Sean asks:
I’m tentatively planning my first trip to Yosemite June 6-9, 06′.
Based on your experience, what do you anticipate the waterfall flows to be in the valley around that time period? I’ve heard of some of the falls drying up during the summer. However, I’m reading here where there is 6ft. of snow on the road to Glacier Point. Is that normal or was there an above average amount of snow or a late spring snow? Can I expect good water flow on the valley falls?
Well Sean, I think you’re pretty safe. Everyone is saying the snow pack is VERY similar to last year which should mean good flows until mid summer.
Uh oh, I think I just jinxed us. Now we’re going to have 110 degree days and the snow is all going to melt. Just kidding. Have a great trip.

Just returned from Yosemite. The rivers are high, the waterfalls beautiful. Tioga Pass and Glacier Point were still closed with many feet of snow. Stayed in El Portal. The rock slide on 140 still had the road to Mariposa closed when we left. 5-20-2006. What a Beautiful park!
