* THE NEXT PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE SIERRA ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND LINGER THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: ANOTHER 1 TO 3 FEET OF NEW SNOW IS POSSIBLE ABOVE 5000 FEET.
* ELEVATION: SNOW LEVELS WILL HOVER AROUND 5000 FEET FRIDAY NIGHT AND THEN LOWER TO NEAR 4500 FEET DURING THE DAY ON SATURDAY.
* TIMING: WIDESPREAD SNOW WILL BEGIN IN THE YOSEMITE PARK AREA BY MID AFTERNOON ON FRIDAY AND THEN SPREAD SOUTHEASTWARD INTO TULARE COUNTY BY MID FRIDAY EVENING. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING BEFORE TAPERING OFF TO SNOW SHOWERS AND DIMINISHING SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: YOSEMITE PARK INCLUDING BADGER PASS AND OTHER ELEVATIONS ABOVE 4500 FEET…GIANT FOREST…LODGEPOLE… GRANT GROVE…HUNTINGTON LAKE AND SHAVER LAKE.
* WINDS: GUSTY WINDS UP TO 60 MPH ARE LIKELY OVER AND NEAR THE CREST. ELSEWHERE NO SIGNIFICANT WINDS ARE EXPECTED.
* IMPACTS: TRAVEL INTO THE SOUTHERN SIERRA WILL BE SEVERELY HAMPERED WHERE HEAVY SNOW OCCURS…ESPECIALLY ON ROADS THAT EXCEED 5000 FEET.(NOAA)
