As the summer comes to a close the Yosemite Climbing Association will be hosting the 5th Annual Facelift. The five day, volunteer clean-up will take place September 24th – 28th starting daily at 8am with a daily closing time at 5pm. Event coordiantors will be staging in front of the Valley Visitor Center. All volunteers are asked to be back before closing to weigh the collected trash and to sort the recycling. For each day of participation volunteers will recieve a raffle ticket for a daily raffle to be held each day (except Sunday) at 5pm at the staging area. Sunday’s raffle will take place at the closing reception in the East Auditorium. Any and all participants are welcome.
The focus this year will once again be all roadways, parking areas, trail heads and trails, climbing areas, campgrounds and every green space we are allowed. Cleanup of some special projects will also be taking place.
Last year’s Facelift was a great success with enormous amounts of trash removed from the park, hundreds of volunteers participating and awareness levels being raised about how to properly conduct oneself in the outdoors and correctly dispose of trash. We are looking forward to another successful event this year!
