The Ahwahnee Hotel, long known for it’s beautiful architecture and elegant rooms now has one more award to boast about, the Fine Dining Hall of Fame Award. “The criterion for receiving the award focuses on food quality, service and ambience, leadership in training and motivating staff to provide the finest in dining experiences. The editors of NRN also consider additional factors such as the longevity of the venue and executive chef, culinary kitchen talent, and consistency in the execution of menus. The Ahwahnee earned high marks in each category, which were reviewed by NRN’s selection committee, key editorial staff and publishers, admitting the hote’s dining room into a celebrated group of 196 restaurants already belonging to NRN’s Fine Dining Hall of Fame.

The Ahwahnee Dining Room features unique architecture and amenities within a stunning, wilderness setting. Built in 1927, its interior ceiling towers 34 feet above guests, anchored by sugar pine timbers that compliment granite pillars. The south wall is adorned with floor to ceiling windows that provide unobstructed views of the magnificent California live oaks and Yosemite%u2019s signature 3,000-foot granite cliffs that dwarf the hotel by comparison.”
