I just did a whole series this week on the geology of Sonora Pass and the West Walker River (started with: http://geotripper.blogspot.com/2010/05/other-california-other-side-of-sierra.html). Took pictures from the same spots you did! I&#039;ll have to go up and take a look around, I&#039;m used to seeing Sonora Pass country in the fall.</description>

		<description>When we go camping over in the Bridgeport/Twin Lakes area we like to go over Sonora Pass and come back over Tioga. That way we&#039;re always going up the steep part and down the gentler slope. </description>

		<description>Took the 108 last year heading from the valley to Tuolumne because of the Big Meadow fire.

It&#039;s a fantastic journey, though the Sonora Pass is quite a challenge, very steep, more than 20% gradient in places.</description>
