Start summer of 1950 with a family back country trip led by a climbing companion of Greg Norman. We started with the obligatory tour of the valley, then on to Tuolomne camping by waterwheel falls and on to Tenya canyon. countless trips in a used 58 VW from school and work in Bay area and Sacramento. As many trips with my family from NYC as I could afford. Skip to 1992, called the Ahwahnee on Thursday in June to inquire about availability for Sunday Night and was told a wedding party had just canceled and the "Bridal Suite" was available. Watching the sun rise over Half Dome from bed: Priceless.

All time favorite: Mist Trail. One morning I looked back along the trail with the sun directly behind my head and saw a perfect circle double mistbow ending at my pockets. The pot of gold at the ends was a few bucks and a few cents, but the mistbow itself was gold.

Wow! What an amazing memory which will be with you forever! Thanks, Jennifer. You write so well. I am sure this will resonate with many people who may just be inspired to do exactly what you did and their perception of the Valley will be changed forever. Loyd, maybe you have started something bigger than you thought - a format book perchance in a few years?
