Photo Video of the Day: 1997 Floods by Mark Holloway

In Photo of the Day

Today we don’t have “a” Photo of the Day but a collection of photos into this new fangled thing called a “video”. Mark Holloway, you may remember he’s the one with the Cavalry photo that was yesterdays Photo of the Day, sent me a link to some video and stills he put together of the 1997 flood. Three words: Oh My God. You gotta see this. Thanks for sending it in Mark.

  • Thanks for sharing this. Just one more reminder that we are not in charge no matter what we think.

  • Wow! This is great! It’s funny – I was just reading a book “Yosemite: The 100 Year Flood” by Mark Goodin (Sierra Press ISBN 0-939365-68-5) which is a awesome grouping of pictures and info. (I bought it on Amazon.com for only about $5 including shipping). Any of your viewers who enjoy this video will probably like this book, too.

  • I played “I Love A Rainy Night” in the video and the copyright police are after me. So for now the sound is gone. It was just music anyway.

  • At that time, I lived in Reno, NV. I purchased a similar video of the action on the east side of the Sierras.
